About Jim Biever
Jim Biever retired in February of 2013 after a 25-year career with the Pennsylvania State Police. For 15 of those years, Jim was a Criminal Investigator in Troop L – Reading, where he investigated and prosecuted numerous crimes from homicides to simple thefts. Jim was the affiant on 8 homicide investigations and he was involved in many more complex investigations ranging from burglaries to missing person investigations.
In 2009, Jim attended the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC) Polygraph School for his polygraph education. The NCTC Polygraph School is a nationally recognized polygraph training facility which trains polygraph examiners from all over the country. After graduation, Jim was the polygraph examiner for Troop L – Reading until his retirement in 2013. During his time as the polygraph examiner for the Pennsylvania State Police, Jim conducted polygraph examinations for homicide investigations, sexual assault investigations, etc. Jim also conducted numerous police applicant polygraph examinations for applicants for the Pennsylvania State Police.
In 2013, Jim received his Post-Conviction Sex Offender Certification from the American Polygraph Association after attending school in Norfolk, VA.
Since 2013, Jim has been doing Post-Conviction Sex Offender Testing along with police applicant testing and private attorney tests.
Jim also serves as a part-time instructor at the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center Polygraph School.
Jim is a member of the American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP) and the American Polygraph Association (APA).
Jim attends various training sessions to keep up to date with the various new polygraph techniques.
